How to Add Shapes in Microsoft Word

  1. Open a Microsoft Word document.
  2. Click the Insert tab .
  3. Select the Shapes menu .
  4. Select the shape you want to use.
  5. Click and drag the cursor on the document page to create a shape.

The size of the shape can be adjusted by dragging the points on the edges.

How to Add Text to a Shape

  1. Right click on the shape.
  2. Select Add Text .
  3. Type the text you want to enter.

In some versions of Word, you can also just click on the shape and start typing.

How to Change Shape Color

  1. Click the shape you want to change.
  2. Open the Shape Format tab .
