The Startup Sound is the sound that plays when Windows starts up or a user logs in. It can be turned off through the Sound settings in the Control Panel.
How to Turn Off Startup Sound in Windows 7 and 8
- Right-click the Speaker icon on the taskbar.
- Select Sounds .
- Open the Sounds tab .
- Uncheck the Play Windows Startup sound option .
- Click Apply .
- Click OK .
Once the settings are applied, the startup sound will not play when Windows starts.
How to Turn Off Startup Sound in Windows 10
- Right-click the Speaker icon on the taskbar.
- Select Sounds .
If the Sounds menu is not available:
- Press
Windows + R. - Type:
mmsys.cpl
- Press Enter .
- Open the Sounds tab .
- Uncheck Play Windows Startup sound .
- Click Apply , then OK .
